1-Day Chanting Session – 精進佛一 May 2010

Following the success of previous 1 & 2 Days Chanting sessions, we will be having a 1-Day Chanting session (精進佛一) on the 2nd bank holiday weekend in May, the 30th May (Sun) from 9:30am – 5pm and you are all welcome to attend this session.

The format of the session will be relatively simple as the main objective is to focus on the recitation of “Amituofo”. The proposed outline for the 1-Day Chanting session is the same as our usual fortnightly session.

Fortnightly Recitation Sessions

Our Fortnightly Recitation (chanting) Sessions (念佛共修法會) take place every other Sunday, please visit our calendar for details.

Time: 2pm – 5pm
Venue: ULU (Direction)

Schedule:
2:00pm – 2:30pm -> Introduction and discussion on Pure Land Teaching
2:30pm – 2:45pm -> Recite Amitabha Sutra (阿彌陀經)
2:45pm – 4:30pm -> Walking Meditation – You may do the whole 2 hours or leave at any time during the chanting. (繞佛)
4:30pm – 4:45pm -> Discussion

If you would like to practise at your own time, this is the 晚課 mp3 that we follow during the session.

During the walking meditation (繞佛), we will be chanting the Name of Amitabha Buddha in Mandarin (Amituofo, 阿彌陀佛).

Change of Venue during Summer 08

Please note that we are changing our venue to Shepherd’s Bush for the summer months. Lon, the owner, has kindly offered us the use of his office. This will be our venue for future sessions until further notice.

Venue: 58b Bulwer Street, Shepherd’s Bush, W12 8AP

You may found TFL journey planner useful if you are planning to travel by public transport. Note that Shepherd’s Bush Central line station closed until mid-October.

Schedule:

2:00pm – 2:15pm -> Introduction and discussion on Pure Land Teaching
2:15pm – 2:30pm -> Recite Amitabha Sutra (阿彌陀經)

We would like to let you know the next chanting session (念佛共修法會) will be on this coming Sunday (16/09/07) at 2pm. The meeting will be held at an office in 58b Bulwer Street, it is about 2/3 mintues walk from Shepherd’s Bush underground station on the central line or Hammersmith and City line – If you like please give me a call (07886299633) and I will arrange someone to pick you up at the station.
